County Behavioral Health Fiscal Leadership Institute Handouts
HELD: Monday, December 11, 2017 | Tuesday, December 12, 2017
Public behavioral health financing has become increasingly complex in recent years and is constantly evolving, especially in this era of health care reform. The fiscal viability of county behavioral health agencies depends upon the capacity of their fiscal departments to understand and learn how to braid the many funding streams they have to work with in order to achieve the best outcomes. The Fiscal Leadership Institute (FLI) incorporated information about current and emerging federal and state fiscal policy topics that are geared specifically to the training needs of county behavioral health finance managers and staff. The FLI was offered in a conference-style format that includes presentations by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), interactive dialogue and opportunities for peer learning.
We encouraged each county to identify the appropriate fiscal staff and to attend as a team. Space was limited, so we encouraged counties to register early.
