“Responsibility and Reality: The Role of the Mental Health Board”
Participants will learn and discuss the roles and responsibilities of Local Behavioral Health Boards and Commission members, including How to implement each responsibility and options available to meet those responsibilities; How to work with your Board of Supervisors and your County Behavioral Health system; Role of LBHBCs in the statewide Behavioral Health system; Ethics Training requirements; How to run and participate in a meeting that conforms to the requirements of the Brown Act; How to conduct board recruitment; Working together as a team; Organizing for advocacy; Engaging the underserved/underrepresented population; Statewide organizations and resources. Lunch will be provided.
Who Should Participate
Local behavioral health board/commission members and support staff from the region.
