The FFT implementation and site certification process is designed to result in sustainable model adherent programs in “real world” community settings.
FFT is implemented in three distinct phases:
Establishing a New Program—This phase focuses on clinical training with strong consultation and supervision from the FFT LLC national training center to learn and use the FFT model. Phase 1 is approximately 1 year.
Establishing a Site Supervisor—This phase develops on-site FFT supervisors through training and activities provided by FFT LLC for site externs who in turn share responsibility for supporting model adherence by their team. Phase 2 is approximately 1 year.
Sustaining Established Certified Programs—This phase involves maintaining established and certified sites. Phase 3 is on-going and certification is renewed on an annual basis. Monitoring and support of phase 3 sites, including provision of ongoing consultation, is provided by California Statewide Consultants organized through CIBHS.
Phase 3 Certified Teams are required to meet the following conditions in order to maintain their certification
Each Phase 3 Team must have at least 3 and not more than 8 trained practitioners.
Each practitioner must maintain at least a half-time caseload (4-5 families)
Each practitioner must fully use the CSS with each referred FFT family.
Each FFT Team must fully participate in all phase 3 training and consultation activities
Required Phase 3 Training and Consultation Activities:
Periodic reviews of the CSS database for site/practitioner adherence, service delivery trends, and client outcomes through the Tri-Yearly Program Evaluation (TYPE) Report and the CIBHS Program Performance Dashboard Report
Annual FFT Site Supervisor Training (1-2 days)
Monthly consultation with California FFT Statewide Consultants
Bi-annual Listen-In Consultation with California FFT Statewide Consultants
Monthly Administrator Implementation Consultation Calls for Site Administrators
