Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Domestic Violence Cross Training
The Any Door is the Right Door curriculum,
originally created with funding from the California Department
of Mental Health, was a unique hands-on, multi-disciplinary
eight-hour training designed for front-line staff and
administrators who were working with women with multiple
vulnerabilities: mental health, domestic violence, and/or
substance abuse. CEU’s were available for an additional fee.
In addressing domestic violence as a part of the whole, WMHPC
strived to create a system that improved providers’
responses to women and girls who sought services, regardless of
their point of entry. WMHPC recognized the overlap between
DV, MH and AOD. The Any Door curriculum not only worked to
prevent domestic violence, but also built cross-discipline
networks of providers across multiple regions of California,
increasing the safety net for DV survivors and their families.
WMHPC did work with your agency and community to implement
the training from start to finish, from finding a host site and
enrolling participants to implementing follow-up efforts up to
six months after the training was completed.
