Initiating Programs for Sex Offenders: An Overview

This webinar will present an overview of research evidence supporting the treatability of sex offenders, approaches and standardized instruments for assessing risk, treatment planning considerations, and evidence-based approaches to treating adult sexual offenders.

The section on assessment will cover STATIC-99R, SRA-FV, STABLE-2007, ACUTE-2007, ARMADILLA, and other useful instruments. The section on treatment will cover cognitive-behavioral and trauma-based approaches, and discuss important clinical issues including attachment disorder, therapeutic style and special considerations for female sex offenders. The presentation will provide a helpful list of resources to support provider agencies with implementing programs and services for effective assessment and treatment of sex offenders.
