We continue to build on the curriculum from our previous Institutes. The agenda for the November Institute reflected some of the significant statewide policy changes occurring in community behavioral health including the latest on Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug Realignment 2011. Additionally, we covered issues in Children’s mental health financing including the elimination of the Healthy Families program and the implications of the Katie A lawsuit. Finally, we organized a panel on federal financing and options California may be able to take advantage of in the future.
As always, we are taking a longer-term view for this training program toward building the competencies and skills that will strengthen mental health financing in the future.
