National Foster Youth Advisory Council

Mission: A diverse national group comprised of current and former foster youth, providing a voice and making a difference in the lives of youth that are currently in care.
Goals: • To inform the field about the strengths, needs, and concerns of youth involved with and transitioning from the foster care system.
• To engage young people and promote youth leadership on a national level.

• To formalize collaborative relationships and develop additional strategic alliances at the national, state, and local levels to strengthen the overall system of supports and services available to youth involved with and transitioning from foster care.

• To build the capacity of and provide national leadership to the field in the areas of positive youth development, independent living, transition supports, and youth involvement.
