The CIBHS Small County Consultation project assists the small counties in California. Because of their unique challenges, small county behavioral health staff require special supports, training and technical assistance that is tailored to their needs in provider capacity, demographics, workforce, and system’s infrastructure. CIBHS provides support through a series of in-person presentations, conference calls, web-based trainings, and an annual strategic planning meeting focused on issues and topics that help improve local behavioral health services.
Mike Geiss, Geiss Consulting, offers small counties the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the behavioral health fiscal issues and policies presented and discussed at the most recent County Behavioral Health Directors Association of California (CBHDA) Financial Services committee such as the Drug/Medi-Cal Waiver fiscal provisions, MHSA fiscal reporting and policies, and additional updates on revenues based on the May Budget with a small counties focus.
Information Technology (I.T.) Training: Thad Dickson, President and CEO of Xpio Health, provides trainings to small counties that address their specific I.T. concerns.
Anne MacRae, PhD, outlines best practices, models and strategies for developing and implementing wellness centers and peer-driven programs in small counties.
